The tour begins at the agreed meeting point, with a visit to the Cathedral of Cusco, where you can appreciate paintings of the Cusco School. Then, we visit the Temple of Qorikancha (entrance fee not included), where the guide explains the tongue and groove technique used in its construction.
Next, we explore the archaeological sites of Tambomachay, Puka Pukara and Sacsayhuaman, where we stop for 30 minutes to learn about their history and enjoy panoramic views, taking advantage of the opportunity to take pictures of the sunset.
The tour ends with a visit to Qenqo, and then return to Cusco, concluding the tour near the Plaza de Armas after 5 hours.
Itinerary
We will begin this Cusco City Tour from our designated meeting point at the agreed time. Our first visit will be to Cusco Cathedral, the city’s main Christian temple, which houses an impressive collection of paintings from the Cusco School of Art. Afterwards, we will head to the Qorikancha Temple (entrance not included), where the guide will explain the interlocking stone technique used in its construction, and you will have free time to take photographs.
Next, we will visit the archaeological sites of Tambomachay, Puka Pukara, and Sacsayhuamán. At Sacsayhuamán, we will stop for approximately 30 minutes to learn about its construction and enjoy breathtaking views, as well as sunset photos at the ruins.
Finally, we will visit Qenqo before returning to Cusco, concluding the tour after approximately five hours at a location near the Main Square (Plaza de Armas).
