The tour begins between 4:30 and 5:00 a.m. with the pick-up of the tourist and a two-hour trip to Mollepata (2,790 masl), where breakfast is enjoyed. Then, we continue to Soraypampa (3,910 masl), the starting point of a hike of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to the Humantay Lagoon (4,200 masl).This impressive lagoon of turquoise waters offers a unique landscape, ideal for photographs and moments of contemplation. The guide will provide information about the lagoon and the Humantay glacier (5,450 masl).After the visit, we return to Soraypampa, enjoying views of the road to the Salkantay glacier (6,271 masl). After lunch, we return to Cusco, arriving around 5:30 p.m.
Itinerary
We will begin our journey just before dawn, between 4:30 and 5:00 AM, boarding our comfortable tourist transport. This will take us on a fascinating two-hour journey to Mollepata, a charming town surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and picturesque villages such as Poroy and Limatambo.
Upon arriving in Mollepata, located at 2,790 meters above sea level, we will join the rest of the group to enjoy a delicious breakfast filled with local flavors. With renewed energy, we will head towards the Soraypampa campsite, at 3,910 meters of altitude. From here, we will embark on an exciting one-and-a-half-hour hike, ascending until we reach the dazzling and mystical Humantay Lagoon, located at 4,200 meters above sea level.
This crystal-clear turquoise lagoon is a natural spectacle that will leave you breathless. It is the perfect setting to capture memorable photographs, immerse yourself in the beauty of the landscape, and experience the tranquility of the surroundings. During our stay, our expert guide will offer an interesting talk about the magnificence of this place, including the majestic Humantay Glacier, which rises to 5,450 meters above sea level.
For the return, we will descend towards Soraypampa, where we will have the opportunity to admire panoramic views of the path towards the Salkantay Glacier, the second-highest mountain in the Cusco region, standing at 6,271 meters of altitude. We will enjoy a delicious lunch before beginning our return trip to Cusco, arriving at approximately 5:30 PM.
